Chapter 23.

Before I could even finish speaking, Jay wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me toward him. In the blink of an eye, I was pressed tightly against his body. What the…. He’s really doing this? My mind went completely blank from the sudden turn of events.

My muscles tensed with nerves, and my throat felt dry and scratchy. His eyes, gleaming with a persistent, obsessive focus, filled my vision. When he lowered his gaze halfway, the shadows cast by his thick lashes made the light in his eyes even more dangerous.

Sensing the shift in atmosphere, I hurriedly pressed my hands against his face. His sharp brows furrowed.

“Why?”

“You think it makes sense to be rubbing lips in a situation like this?”

“Why not? We already share a toothbrush.”

“…….”

“Isn’t that more inappropriate?”

His deep voice sank into my ears, calm and persuasive. He had a real talent for making nonsense sound convincing. I darted my gaze around before eventually dropping it to the floor.

“You don’t want to?”

“…….”

“Is it because it’s me?”

His hand gently lifted my chin. His dark blue eyes were sharp, locked in focus. There wasn’t even a speck of playfulness in his gaze. It felt like I was being cornered.

“It’s not that…”

“If it’s not something you absolutely hate, then let’s just try it.”

“…….”

“I’m kind of curious too.”

He leaned in, voice low, and whispered right by my ear. His words pierced through more clearly and firmly than anything else he’d said tonight. I started wondering if all the whining from earlier was just bait. Maybe this was what he’d really been aiming for all along. As that thought crept in, he called out to me.

“Sun Woori.”

The way he said my name was short but powerful. The air around me felt heavy, as if it were cornering me into a place where resistance was no longer an option. The change in his demeanor was so stark, I almost questioned whether this was the same Jay I knew. It made me tense up sharply.

“Don’t think too much.”

His neatly shaped fingers traced the inside of my wrist. Compared to how he used to hold me down like it was some kind of ritual, this touch was nothing. But because of the look in his eyes, it felt like my skin was on fire.

“Kissing you to satisfy your curiosity doesn’t come with any consequences. Nothing between us will change.”

“If you like it, we can do it again sometime… If it’s disgusting, we’ll end it right here.”

He spoke like it was no big deal. And maybe because of his relaxed tone, I started to believe it, too. Jay had the kind of charm that could blur the line between right and wrong, even for someone as clear-headed as me. 

It was a kind of con-artist appeal. The shock I’d felt earlier about the idea of him teaching me how to kiss was slowly fading. Honestly, rubbing lips wasn’t that hard of a thing to do.

“Then go ahead.”

Half of it was genuine curiosity. The other half… Well, I didn’t want to admit it, but I’d fallen for that face. What a cheap move, using his good looks to win someone over. 

He slowly traced my face with those deep, pitch-black eyes. The straight line of his nose, the defined lips beneath sweat-dampened hair…. How could anyone ignore that with a functioning pair of eyes?

When I finally gave permission, his pupils widened slightly. After all that teasing, he looked a little surprised that I’d actually given in. If he backed off now saying it was all a joke, I’d be able to walk away too. But Jay’s expression had turned completely serious, almost scarily so.

His fingers ran a long line across my lower lip.

“If you don’t want to, push me… No, hit me.”

“Don’t worry. I’m ready.”

“Don’t be too ready. You need to focus on me right now.”

His voice grew lower, thicker, and it slid into my ears like honey. Just meeting his gaze through this rising heat made my insides feel like they were burning up.

Then, his low chuckle tickled my lips.

“You’re nervous.”

“I’m not—”

Before I could even finish the sentence, Jay grabbed my face and tilted my head, swallowing my lips whole.

“Mm—”

My body swayed backward. If a strong hand hadn’t wrapped around my lower back to steady me, I would’ve fallen back gracelessly. But the soft, cushiony feeling on my lips was more stimulating than the near-fall.

I opened my eyes, surprised by the sensation. It was a much more intense feeling than the simple touch of hand on hand, even though it was the skin of the same person. 

The sight of a handsome face filled my widened view. When my gaze met his persistently dark eyes, a strange shiver ran down the back of my neck. As our lips rubbed together, my dry lips became moist.

“Wait…!”

I turned my head away in a hurry and pushed his chest with both hands. As I moved back, Jay tilted his head and leaned in, stopping just inches from my lips.

“Is it not good?” 

His low voice was hoarse, as if he was drunk.

“It’s not that it’s no good, but…”

I didn’t know how to describe this feeling. My legs felt weak and my mind was hazy. If I had to choose between ‘good’ and ‘bad,’ it was closer to ‘good.’ 

However, I also felt uncomfortable as the playful kiss started to become seriously sexual. This wasn’t what I’d expected. There was no mood, just acrid campfire smoke all around, yet a tingling sensation shot through me.

Jay was staring at me with transparent, watery eyes. It was as if he was obsessively observing every single movement of my eyes. But as my answer was delayed, he seemed to reach his limit of patience and let out a desperate breath. 

Then, he tilted his head again and pressed his lips against mine. A stronger force than before seemed to pour over my entire body. Thud. Our precious dinner dropped onto the dirt, but neither of us paid it any mind.

As his soft lips repeatedly swallowed mine, a smacking sound spread out. Our heated breaths mixed together, and a groan escaped my lips. A moment later, a hot tongue parted my lips and entered, tracing the inside of my cheek. 

It was an intense sensation that felt like it was piercing a long path from the base of my spine to the top of my head. When my body gave a great shudder, Jay laughed softly and grabbed the back of my neck, pulling me even closer to him.

“Wuuhm. Uhm…”

I felt like I was going to suffocate from his tongue and breath filling my mouth. The hot warmth from him traveled down my throat, past my lungs, and seemed to heat up my entire body. I grabbed his muscular arm, groaning, and squirmed in his embrace.

“…Hah.”

Finally released after a long time, I gasped for breath with my mouth open. I was in a bad state, but Jay was the same. No, he seemed to be even more passionately heated than I was. 

A vein stood out on his neck, and his lips glistened with saliva. He waited for me to catch my breath, his eyes like a predator ready to devour me at any moment.

“Get off me, now.” [Woori]

“Already?” [Jay]

“We’ve done enough.”

“It doesn’t feel like enough. No, it’s not enough.”

“What do you mean… ugh!” 

When I opened my mouth slightly, Jay didn’t miss the chance and pressed his lips against mine again. His tongue pushed in as if it had been waiting, slowly tracing my teeth.

“Nhnhh…”

The wet, smacking sound of our tongues rubbing and saliva mixing together bounced in the air, sounding lewd. His tongue, moving with uninhibited excitement, tangled with the tip of mine in a chaotic dance before sucking hard. Unable to bear the rush of sensation, I squeezed my eyes shut.

It was a kiss that felt like I was being devoured. I was so busy with life that I’d never even dated before, but I knew this wasn’t a skillful kiss. 

What kind of kiss involves his tongue frantically poking the back of my throat and greedily licking the inside of my mouth? This guy, who had confidently claimed to be good at this sort of thing, was even more out of control and excited than I was.

He shoved his tongue deep into my mouth, licked my cheeks, then bit my lips with his teeth. The moments of rubbing were soft enough to make my eyes glaze over, but when he couldn’t hold back, he became so fierce I couldn’t breathe. 

My reason began to scatter and my vision grew dim. As a flood of unfamiliar sensations poured over me, sparks kept firing behind my closed eyelids.

“Uhm, uh…”

Smack. Our lips parted and our breaths mingled. As I slowly opened my dazed eyes, I could see a thin strand of saliva connecting us. Hot, humid breath clung to my wet skin. 

While I was still gasping for air, Jay lowered his head and began kissing my ear, jawline, and the area around my neck. His smooth hair and warmth brushed against my cheek. 

As his lips probed the soft skin, the simmering sensation intensified. Jay didn’t stop there, pushing his hand under my waist.
