Chapter 25.

“Isn’t this perfect? Come on, jump around shouting ‘Hyung is the best!’ already.”

“I don’t know…”

“Don’t let your pride get in the way. A real man admits it when something’s good.”

Jay had built a wooden bed to bring into the new shelter. He’d ripped the chairs off the yacht one by one with monstrous strength and reassembled them, creating a surprisingly soft bed. He looked at his work with wide shoulders and eyes full of pride.

Even to my eyes, the bed looked well-made, so it must’ve looked the same to Suho. But Suho seemed annoyed by Jay’s constant gloating and stubbornly refused to say what Jay wanted to hear.

That only made Jay more persistent, repeatedly asking, “How is it? Amazing, right?” It was a battle between an impenetrable shield and a spear that pierced everything.

I watched the two guys acting like kids from a distance. My blank gaze unknowingly focused on one spot. Jay’s sharply defined lips.

The memory was still vivid. Just a few days ago, he’d bit my lips with hungry desire, not even trying to hide how savage he was.

I could still feel that thick tongue filling my mouth, the overwhelming force of his body, and the way he let out excited breaths while biting my lower lip with sharp teeth.

“Ah.”

My eyes met Jay’s. My relaxed body tensed in an instant. My face burned as if on fire, and a wave of embarrassment and shame hit me, as if my thoughts had been exposed. But Jay only grinned playfully and gave a slight nod.

“Lie down.”

“……”

I jumped up and turned away.

“Hey, Sun Woori! Where are you going?”

Before I could even take a step, he called out and followed me. He quickly caught up and blocked my path. I flinched.

His sweat-drenched chest was so close I could see it clearly. When I looked up, I met Jay’s dissatisfied gaze directly.

“Why are you ignoring me?”

“…Because you’re annoying. We’ve got so much to do.”

“Is that really all?”

He asked like he was interrogating me, standing at a slant.

“What else would it be?”

“Lately, you’ve been avoiding me.”

“……”

I only moved my lips, unable to offer a quick retort. Because it was true. I was avoiding him.

After what happened that night, how was I supposed to act like nothing happened? Just looking at him brought the memory of that moment crashing back as if it had happened yesterday.

The way his eyes stayed locked on me made the air feel heavy. Even the sweat I’d barely noticed before now felt suffocating.

I fanned myself lightly with my hand, and Jay asked, “Are you hot?”

“What, do I look cold?”

“Use me as a sunshade. I’m tall.”

“No thanks. I’m going to wash up.”

I pushed past him and headed to the stream. Jay looked like he might follow but hesitated when he heard I was going to wash. Then from behind, he shouted.

“Lie down when you get back! It’s really comfy!”

I waved a hand half-heartedly behind me to show I’d heard him. My face, turned away, was flushed with heat.

Was I the only one thinking about this?

Even after the kiss, Jay acted completely normal. He teased as usual the moment he woke up, argued with Suho over meaningless stuff like how to eat rice, and diligently did everything I told him to. While sweating and all.

“…What the hell.”

I felt like I’d lost. Jay had probably kissed me out of impulse or curiosity, but I was the only one giving it meaning and getting all confused. But wasn’t my reaction normal?

We’re grown adults who kissed with tongues, and he’s acting like it’s nothing.

“Maybe he’s just a sleazy bastard.”

Maybe that’s why he didn’t even flinch at this kind of physical contact. Sure, his memories might be gone, but the body doesn’t forget. Maybe I gave my first kiss to some playboy I shouldn’t even be involved with…

“Ha.”

Sitting with my feet in the stream, I let out a small laugh. Somehow, the thought made my head feel lighter.

It’s not like I had any romantic ideas about my first kiss. If the guy’s a player, then hey, it’ll just give me experience. Like he said, no strings attached.

“He is pretty good-looking, after all.”

If Jay wasn’t pretending to be clueless about what happened but genuinely didn’t care, then there was no need for me to stress over it.

Even if I came onto him again because I couldn’t forget that blissful moment, Jay would probably just roll with it. He’s used to that kind of life.

“I really didn’t need to be so self-conscious about it.”

I now regretted the whole week I’d spent being conscious of Jay. When I thought about it, this place was an uninhabited island anyway. There was no one to hear rumors, so what was I so worried about?

What a fool. After submerging myself completely in the icy stream, it felt like all my lingering anxieties had been washed away at once.

Feeling refreshed in both body and spirit, I returned to the shelter. Jay was tidying up the messy materials around the area. With a relaxed mind, I admired the new shelter standing impressively beside him. All that was left was to install the ceiling, and it would be complete.

“Is there a problem?”

Jay asked, wiping the sweat from his brow with the back of his hand.

I just shook my head. Jay naturally took the clothes I had changed out of after washing up.

“At first, I was so overwhelmed, wondering how I was ever going to build this. But I can’t believe we’ve already stacked it this high.”

“You’re going to cry when it’s finished, aren’t you?”

“If I do, will you wipe away my tears?”

“I’ll hug you so hard you’ll die.”

His words made me chuckle.

“Don’t do that. If you hugged me seriously, I think I’d actually be crushed to death.”

I turned my head after looking at the shelter, and Jay’s expression was strange. His dark eyes were staring at me as if trying to see through me.

“You’re finally making eye contact now.”

“…”

Jay lightly brushed his finger under my eye. Then, without a word, he turned his back.

“Where are you going?”

“To wash up.”

He answered concisely and ambled away. I covered the slight warmth left under my eye with the back of my hand.

“At least finish cleaning up what you were doing.”

There was a small pile of leftover firewood on the ground. But Jay had already moved the heavy stuff, so I just had to pick up the smaller pieces. It was as I was piling the pieces near the campfire that I remembered something.

“Did he bring a change of clothes?”

I recalled him heading straight for the stream without stopping at the shelter. I reluctantly grabbed a fresh set of Jay’s clothes. He had also made a great bed today, so I’d make a special trip for him. I headed towards the stream with the intention of just leaving the clothes nearby.

However, I found Jay on a forest path not far from the shelter. He was standing motionless among the dense trees.

Surely he wasn’t relieving himself in public? We had a separate space we used as a bathroom. We had clearly designated it because we knew that if we didn’t, an unpleasant smell would spread in the hot summer weather.

His profile, as he stared down at the ground in what looked like deep thought, seemed quite serious. I decided to sneak up on him and scold him after giving him a fright. But as I got closer, something about him seemed off.

“Haa, uht…”

I heard a low, hoarse breath. His voice was so feverish it made me wonder if he was sick. I stopped in my tracks. Jay suddenly and uncomfortably ripped off his T-shirt in one go.

His body, with its heavy frame and perfectly sculpted fat and muscle, was revealed. A firm muscle sensuously twitched over his bronzed skin. His face, illuminated by the sunlight filtering through the leaves, was sharp and elegant.

Why a sudden striptease? My eyes darted around, looking for a place to settle, when I suddenly saw a thick, massive thing near Jay’s lower abdomen. It was bulging, unusually big and thick, and… gross. My bewildered eyes went wide.

Gasp. I covered my mouth with my hands, stopping myself from crying out. I had just witnessed his private moment.

His penis, pulled up taut against his lower abdomen, displayed an impressive grandeur. Each time his veiny hand moved, the dark red glans exposed its enormous head.

A smacking sound of skin hitting skin and a squishing sound from the fluid coming from his penis could be heard as he passionately rubbed his penis. In between, Jay’s suppressed moans were mixed in.

Just looking at the fluid-slicked thing was sickening. As transparent fluid bubbled from the slit, his large hand rubbed it down the shaft.

The sight of the dark red penis glistening in the light was quite lewd. That’s when something in his hand caught my eye. It was the clothes I’d taken off. It was as I was staring at them blankly that it happened.

“Haat, uht…”

He brought my sweat-drenched clothes close to his face. His face, concentrating on his act with a furrowed brow, was utterly provocative.
