Edith uttered, attempting to conceal her nervousness, though her voice still quivered slightly.

The cabin was engulfed by the chilly night air.

Soon, a thin dress will flow down beneath the hard and unimpressive wooden bed.

The sense of unfamiliarity between what she had imagined of the affair between a man and a woman and the current situation feels so different.

And the worry lingered, wondering if Walter, the fierce yet refined man before her, would show kindness.

“If you wish.”

Walter responded, his voice low and filled with anticipation as if he had been anticipating this very moment.

His voice showed a hint of impatience, but did not tremble at all. Walter took off his shirt, revealing his tight pectoral muscles.

The tensioned veins throughout his body made him look like a finely sculpted beast.

He patiently waited for her, discarding the shirt that hung from his sturdy forearm.

His dark hair and green eyes, flickering with desire, evoked memories of a summer night forest.

He resembled the man who had been her first love, the one she had promised to marry in her youth.

His intense gaze and striking appearance completely clashed with his position as a servant.

As he unfastened the leather strap from his waist with his muscular hand, a surge of anticipation coursed through her, and she felt certain that this night would be deeply satisfying.

The moment permission was granted, Walter pressed his body against her. The heat rose to the point where the cold became insignificant.

Edith insisted, her fingertips delicately caressing his cheek as if cherishing the most precious treasure.

Silence hung in the air as they exchanged glances, and in an instant, he collapsed onto her like a sandcastle succumbing to the waves.

Edith closed her eyes, surrendering to the sensation of his warm breath cascading over her.

The moment Walter’s fingertips touched her body, she felt as if she had spent a long time being sold as the fourth wife of an old viscount.

At first, she couldn’t pinpoint when their secret affair had begun, conceived solely as a means of survival.
