Clang!
That ringing sound was Pinocchio smacking a wizard on the back of the head with a frying pan.
The wizard, who had mistaken me for an enemy and was about to use magic, dropped like paper.
“Um… Do you know my name?”
He woke up looking pitiful, with no memory at all.
Oh no… maybe I hit him too hard.
“Kiss me on the cheek, Lunar.”
He asked.
“And on my eyes too. Kiss me there.”
I gently kissed his cheek and eyelids.
Then Rus kissed my cheek and eyelids back, pressed his lips against my temple, softly bit my wrist, and touched each of my fingers with his lips.
“See, Lunar? I can kiss any part of you, and you can do the same to me.”
His long, pale fingers moved gracefully in the air, tracing words. He hadn’t been learning sign language for very long, but the way he did it was so smooth and elegant.
“I love you.”
I burned that gesture into my memory.
“That’s all I need.”
