Just as Su Wuji was about to call people over to play mahjong, there was a knock on the door.

“Come in,” Su Wuji said.

Those who could reach this floor and knock on this door were let in by Xiao Yinlei, making them one hundred percent safe.

The door opened, and a heavy burden appeared first in Su Wuji’s sight.

Identifying the person by the chest, Xu Jiayan had arrived.

Her complexion had recovered significantly, and her injuries seemed to be no longer a major issue. At this moment, she was wearing a thin white trench coat that covered all the way down to her knees.

It looked quite strict.

Su Wuji commented, “Why are you dressed so conservatively today? Doesn’t seem like your style.”

Xu Jiayan smiled brightly, then unzipped the coat and took it off.

Su Wuji’s breath caught.

Inside was a black camisole.

This camisole was actually a bodysuit, like a high-waisted swimsuit. The inverted triangle hem was tucked into denim hot pants, leaving Xu Jiayan’s slender waist exposed on both sides, sparking infinite imagination.

These hot pants also had distressed and scratch effects on the thighs, making one want to peer through the worn scratches, push aside the white threads, and explore the looming depths within.

Actually, the area exposed by this outfit wasn’t much, but every detail was full of careful, seductive intent. Paired with Xu Jiayan’s invincible figure, it was a killer look for all ages.

“Looks decent on the outside, who knew it was so slutty inside,” Su Wuji said grumpily.

Xu Jiayan sat down opposite Su Wuji, crossing her left leg over her right, the white flesh of her thighs pressing together. “Are you evaluating my clothes, or talking about me as a person?”

Su Wuji said unhappily, “I actually don’t welcome you very much.”

Xu Jiayan smiled. “Afraid you can’t control yourself?”

“…” Su Wuji took a deep breath. “Will you die if you don’t flirt?”

“Other men haven’t seen me like this.” Xu Jiayan crossed her legs. “By the way, Li Zunyang came to the hospital this morning to talk about the transfer of shares in Cihui Hospital.”

Su Wuji said, “I gave them three days for the transfer; it seems the time limit has passed, right?”

Xu Jiayan nodded. “Indeed, it has passed. So, to show sincerity, the transfer price they offered is far below the market price. They just hope this matter ends here.”

Su Wuji raised an eyebrow. “After Xiao Pang threw those three into the sewer, Li Zunyang’s attitude became this good?”

Xu Jiayan shrugged. This simple movement caused a slight tremor in her upper body curves.

“Perhaps they discovered Young Master Su’s extraordinary nature.” Xu Jiayan smiled gently, giving Su Wuji a meaningful look. “And I, a surgeon, am just basking in your reflected glory.”

Su Wuji grinned meaningfully. “The easier they are to talk to, the fishier it is.”

Xu Jiayan leaned forward. “What to do next, I’ll listen to you.”

“I’m broke as a joke, no money to buy shares. Let your Xu family pay to take over. Put it under your name. From now on, you are Director Xu,” Su Wuji said nonchalantly.

Actually, this identity was also a form of protection for Xu Jiayan. After all, no one would expect the new director of Cihui Hospital to be an assassin from the Silver Moon Organization!

Xu Jiayan clearly understood Su Wuji’s meaning. A flash of emotion passed through her seductive eyes. “Such a valuable gift, I’m really embarrassed to accept.”

“If you don’t want it, forget it. I’ll give it to another woman,” Su Wuji said.

“That won’t do. I don’t care about other places, but in Ninghai, you can only have me as your woman.” Xu Jiayan pouted.

This woman was truly a born stunner. Just this casual flirtation made Su Wuji feel a bit unable to handle it.

Su Wuji said grumpily, “Business is done, hurry up and leave.”

“Not done yet. Li Zunyang also said his boss behind the scenes wants to invite you to dinner. I took the liberty of declining for you.” Xu Jiayan smiled. “You definitely won’t blame me, right?”

“Good job. It might have been a Hongmen Banquet.” Su Wuji asked, “Confirmed the other party’s true identity?”

Xu Jiayan pointed towards Ninghai. “Confirmed. Retiring to the second line next year. Overall political achievements are good, official reputation is okay, almost no bad reviews among the people.”

Su Wuji shook his head. “Paying such a big price to settle things, probably wants a smooth retirement. Might have taken me for a knife in the hands of someone in the Capital.”

Xu Jiayan winked and smiled. “I don’t know if you’re a knife, but I know you’ll definitely stab people.”

Su, the virgin’s face warmed slightly. “You’re so dirty…”

“Alright, I should go,” Xu Jiayan said softly.

She stood up, walked to Su Wuji, and opened her arms. “Don’t know when we’ll meet next time. No hug?”

Su Wuji pushed her hand aside. “Stay alive.”

Xu Jiayan said, “No missions recently. I’ll stay alive obediently, won’t die.”

Su Wuji didn’t believe her entirely. “Hope so.”

Xu Jiayan still stepped forward and hugged Su Wuji. “By the way, forgot to tell you. Zhuo Sixuan’s injuries that day were too severe. Two hours after being sent to the ICU, he was cold.”

Su Wuji seemed indifferent. “Oh.”

Really soft.

No padding.

“I always feel that somewhere in the dark, someone is helping me.” Xu Jiayan stared into Su Wuji’s eyes, smiling lightly.

Su Wuji clearly saw through this probe. He chuckled and pulled Xu Jiayan’s arm. “Hurry up and go. Don’t affect this young master picking up girls tonight.”

“By the way, I bought a kitten two days ago. Soft and cute like me,” Xu Jiayan said. “If you have time, you can go to Ninghai to see.”

Su Wuji thought about it and felt that if he really went, the one opening the door might be Xu Jiayan wearing cat ears.

After Xu Jiayan left, Su Wuji called Xiao Yinlei up.

“There’s something I can’t decide on for the moment. Take Xiao Pang to Ninghai and find Su Chiyan,” Su Wuji said. “Let this female demon… no, let my dear good aunt decide for me.”

Regarding the behind-the-scenes boss with a good official reputation and political achievements, Su Wuji decided to seek the opinion of his family elder. Having stood in the gray area for so many years, he naturally understood that many things were not black and white, and one must consider the principal aspect of the contradiction when encountering problems.

Xu Jiayan left Empress Bar and made a call while starting the car.

“Logistician, I want the detailed report on the Zhuo Sixuan case. Can you help me hack into the Ninghai Municipal Bureau’s system and pull the file?”

After the conflict at the club that day, the more Xu Jiayan thought about it, the fishier it felt. After all, there were too many coincidences!

The other side still had the voice changer on. “I’ve investigated. Classified as a gang fight. The participants have already turned themselves in. The Ninghai Municipal Bureau has closed the case.”

“Turned themselves in?” Xu Jiayan said immediately. “That’s not right. I want to meet the person who surrendered! There must be a problem here!”

Intuition told her this was one hundred percent a scapegoat!

The Logistician said, “Whether there’s a problem or not, the final result is what Silver Moon wanted. Guanzhi, a friendly reminder: don’t do useless work. The more you do, the faster you’ll be exposed.”

Xu Jiayan: “Shouldn’t we pursue the truth?”

Logistician: “For Silver Moon, results are more important than the truth. For an assassin, the truth has never been important.”

Xu Jiayan’s voice turned slightly cold. “I can stop asking about this case, but I firmly disagree with what you just said.”

With that, she hung up the phone decisively.

After driving for two hours, Xu Jiayan returned to her penthouse apartment in Ninghai.

As soon as she entered the room, she called out, “Meow meow, meow meow, come out and welcome me.”

However, there was no response.

After checking all the rooms, Xu Jiayan confirmed that the kitten she had just adopted was missing!

The window on the balcony was open a crack, about a dozen centimeters wide.

“My god, could it have fallen?” Xu Jiayan’s heart tightened.

From such a high floor, the cat would surely die if it fell!

But she clearly remembered closing the doors and windows before leaving!

She hurried downstairs to search, but still found nothing.

Searching the entire residential area, Xu Jiayan couldn’t find a trace of the kitten. She returned to the room, and just as she was about to change her shoes, she suddenly saw a piece of paper stuffed in the cat bed.

Two lines of English were written on the paper.

Xu Jiayan glanced at it, and her heart leaped into her throat!

The content on the paper read

Miss Guanzhi, don’t worry. The kitty is with me. I’ll take care of her for you for a while.

Signed

Raymond Intelligence Agency, S-Class Investigator, Ritson, sends regards to Miss Guanzhi.

NOTES

“Feast at Hongmen.” A historical event referring to a banquet set up as a trap to murder a guest. Idiomatically means a treacherous meeting or dinner party with hidden malicious intent.
