Bring It On! - Epilogue
Epilogue
It had taken a long time. Cha Yoon, dressed in his black formal suit, gave himself one last inspection, savoring the feeling.
The moment Woori accepted his proposal still replayed vividly in his mind, as if it had happened just yesterday. Thinking about that day still made his heart race and… well, everyone knows.
Cha Yoon resisted the urge to dash straight to Sun Woo-ri’s side and instead completed the marriage registration first. And now, a year and seven months after registering, it was finally their wedding.
He had persuaded Sun Woo-ri again and again, enduring her stubborn refusal to hold the ceremony. In the end, even Cha Suho had joined in coaxing her, leading them to this day.
The venue was the uninhabited island where Sun Woo-ri had once drifted ashore. Cha Yoon had not wanted to step foot on this cursed place, but to create an unforgettable memory for Sun Woo-ri, it was unavoidable.
As soon as Sun Woo-ri gave her consent, construction began. The scattered bodies of the indigenous inhabitants were dealt with, and the few remaining were relocated.
Cha Yoon still couldn’t forget the look in Sun Woo-ri’s eyes, as though she thought he had murdered the natives, staring at them like they were trash. Cha Yoon felt wronged. They had destroyed themselves fighting for dominance. In the end, it made his job remarkably easy.
Cha Yoon worked tirelessly with experts to design an outdoor wedding venue that would please Sun Woo-ri. It retained the natural beauty of the island while imbuing the space with refined sophistication.
A sturdy marble platform had been installed on the white sand, draped with pure white fabric fluttering in the breeze. A floral arch adorned with imported flowers crowned the platform. The faint scent carried by the sea breeze permeated the surroundings.
There were no seats for guests, no officiant. It was only Sun Woo-ri and Cha Yoon. Of course, Cha Suho, the orchestra, and multiple cameras were present. Park Jong-hoo served as master of ceremonies.
In the isolated space, Cha Yoon imagined Sun Woo-ri, how stunning she would look. If it were truly deserted, he thought, he would have swept her into his arms without hesitation. Resisting the urge, he adjusted his tie, swallowing his desire.
Then it happened. The orchestra switched to the processional. As Park Jong-hoo announced the groom’s entrance, the curtain lifted. Cha Yoon stepped onto the virgin road, bathed in the sunlight. And then, Sun Woo-ri’s long-awaited entrance followed.
Similarly, the white curtain was drawn back. The first thing visible was the full sweep of her dress, then her demurely clasped hands. Her chest and collarbone came into view, and finally her face….
“Urk.”
A stabbing headache made him stagger. Cha Yoon pressed his palm to his temple, fighting to stay upright.
Why was this happening now? Every time the pain flared, he recalled Park Jong-hoo’s advice to visit a doctor and for the first time, he regretted ignoring it. He struggled, but sheer will couldn’t withstand this pain. When he collapsed, the music stopped abruptly.
“Cha Yoon! Cha Yoon!”
Sun Woo-ri ran toward him, calling his name, though her face remained hidden. As darkness filled his vision, a rapid montage of memories flashed before his eyes.
Sobbing against Sun-woo-ri’s back beneath a damp tent, furiously chopping wood to the sound of useless grunts, stealing morning kisses with Woori, fleeing from bees, snakes, and the natives.
Everything came back vividly, as if it had happened yesterday. And then he realized it was his own memory.
“What’s wrong with you? Snap out of it!”
Sun Woo-ri’s urgent hands tapped his cheeks. Cha Yoon felt his consciousness slipping but wanted desperately to show that he had regained his memory.
What could he say that she would understand? Just before he lost consciousness entirely, his slack lips moved slowly.
“…Give me food.”
His head fell sideways with a thud.
